Headteacher's Welcome
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The Thomas Lord Audley School website. I hope it gives you a flavour of our school, the things we believe in and our hopes for the young people in our care.
I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of The Thomas Lord Audley School. We have highly committed staff and amazing students; our agreed values of ‘Ready, Respectful and Responsible’ underpin everything we do. Our vision is to empower our young people to be the best that they can be.
The Thomas Lord Audley School is a thriving, over-subscribed 11-16 comprehensive school, situated to the south of Colchester. It serves a wide and diverse catchment area, including Old Heath, Monkwick, Shrub End, the villages to the south of Colchester and the community of Mersea Island.
I am very proud of our school and our students. We think that The Thomas Lord Audley School has a very definite feel to it, one of positivity and challenge but also enjoyment. Our school is characterised by a positive learning environment and excellent relationships. We believe that children are more likely to be successful if they work within a secure environment that supports them and allows them to grow and develop.
We aim to ensure our young people to leave school not only with the best examination results possible but also with the skills and attributes they need to go on to success in their adult lives. Our students have excellent attitudes and a real enthusiasm for their studies, we encourage them to adopt a growth mindset and to learn from the challenges they face. All students are expected to reach their potential. As a school we take a real pride in their achievements and celebrate their successes.
The website should also provide you with information about the school. If you cannot find what you need, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Simon Essex
